Dr. Albayrak grew up in Istanbul, Turkey. She earned her medical degree from Hacettepe University Medical School. In the Koh lab, she is working on a project for developing a novel platform to identify the gut microbiota taxa and detect antibiotic resistance genes. Outside the lab she enjoys mindfulness in nature, outdoor activities with her family, cooking and playing tennis.
