Jana Dakour

Jana is originally from Sidon, Lebanon. She earned her BSc in Biology and MSc in Microbiology and Immunology from the American University of Beirut. Her master’s thesis focused on investigating mutations associated with acute myeloid leukemia using the Drosophila melanogaster model. Following her MSc, she worked for a year as a research assistant in biomedical engineering, where she focused on drug delivery using liposomes and nanoparticles in collaboration with Benta Pharma Industry, Lebanon. Currently, she is a graduate student in Immunology, studying the gut microbiome and its role in the response to immune checkpoint therapy.
