Nina Sanford MD
Nina grew up in Newton, MA, a suburb outside of Boston. She earned her B.A. in Spanish/Pre-Med at Princeton University in 2008, M.D. from Harvard Medical School in 2013 and completed radiation oncology residency at the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program in 2018. She has been at University of Texas Southwestern since 2018 where she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology specializing in gastrointestinal cancers. Her research interests include optimizing and individualizing radiation therapy in non-operative management of rectal cancer, the epidemiology and biology of young onset colorectal cancer, and the microbiome response to radiotherapy across gastrointestinal cancer sites. She is also passionate about mentoring young women interested in careers in science and medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys hanging out with her daughters and husband, exercising on her Peloton bicycle, and going to Costco.
